Sarah is a proud aunty of six who can never have enough baby in her life. She’s happiest when she’s on a bike or backpacking and is woefully clueless about pop culture. Originally from the east coast, Sarah relocated to Berkeley/Oakland for graduate school and has since rooted herself among tender, loving, and endlessly generous friends. Her paid work involves supporting local governments throughout California to improve public safety net programs (Medi-Cal, mobile crisis teams, homeless services), programs that are intentionally chronically and severely underfunded due to the U.S.’s unquenchable thirst for war and destruction.
“We who believe in freedom cannot rest until it comes…”
The first time she heard Ella’s Song while attending an organizer’s meeting in DC (something related to opposing police violence or slumlords or the like), she found tears running down her cheeks. It’s been her guidepost ever since.
